Getting closer to the end...

It's been a loooong and crazy year. But, we're about to be done. This is the last week of school, then exams and then freedom. Crazy to think about, but true. I just hope everyone had a great year and is looking forward to something for the summer...even if that something goes a little like this:

12 Noon: wake up
12:45 pm: roll out of bed
12:50 pm: make coffee/bagel/cereal/whatev
1:00 pm: eat/drink "breakfast"
1:10 pm: get ready to go to pool
1:30 pm: arrive at pool with leisure reading/floatation device/materials to "lay out"
1:40 pm: begin consuming fruity cocktail, preferably served in a hollowed pineapple with little umbrella
2:40 pm: continue drinking
3:40 pm: still drinking
4:00 pm: pack up and meet friends for a movie and dinner
8:00 pm: arrive home
until 2:00 am: do whatevs
2:00 am: go to sleep
Repeat...

Ahhhhhh.....summer.

Movies I'm Looking Forward To...

Here's some movies I'm looking forward to, some because I'm a geek, a movie fanatic or just a girl...don't judge me, it's just a blog.

-17 Again ----probably because I think Zac Efron is cute. (It's ok, it's legal. He's 21. I looked it up.)

-Wolverine---I've heard really good things and really bad things. But, I've been in love with him since I was like 10 and Hugh Jackman is really pretty.

-Star Trek ---I know, I know. I was never a fan of the show and only liked bits and pieces when we had to watch it so much in TV Crit. But I like Abrams' work and I'm interested to see what he's done with the franchise.

-Harry Potter: Half Blood Prince - Just for sheer geekdom.

-New Moon ---Don't hate.

-Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ---The first one wasn't perfect and I didn't like Megan Fox's dramatic acting at all, but I like Shia and the special effects on the bots are sweet.

-Ghosts of Girlfriends Past ---Matthew McConaughey is like buttah...just sayin'...

Ok, so that's all for now. Later.

Super Powers!

This is a blog response to James' blog about having super powers. I think I would want to have some sort of telekinesis as well but also have another complimentary power. A second mutation, if I were one of the X-Men. Telekinesis can be seen as an offensive and a defensive power, I suppose. You could attack as well as defend yourself, but I think I would want something more.
Emma Frost is a telepath (different) but also can turn to diamond...but she's a B so I wouldn't want to be her...Kitty Pryde's ability to phase through solids is cool. Although...it gets her into trouble during...emotional scenes...

Ok, now that I've forever secured my place in the geek realm, I'll go roll for my paladin...

I roll twenties...just sayin'...

Susan Boyle

http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

This Susan Boyle woman is amazing. Watch her.

This is a humbling video because everyone in that audience and those who watch her on video or TV or wherever...everyone is thinking "This is going to be awful." Instead everyone is blown away.

It made me cry.

Seriously.

29 Days until Graduation

I'm still not able to really think about graduation in a "it's really going to happen" way. I've been defined as a student for 17 years of my 22 years of life. Unless I decide to go to grad school, which isn't in my immediate future, then I may never be a student again. It's weird. I bought my cap and gown yesterday and sent off the majority of my announcements and it still really hasn't sunk in. There's been a couple times when it's hit me out of the blue but only for brief moments because I repress it. It takes enough for me to make it week by week, let alone thinking ahead to my life and future. Anyway, you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men so...

To take a walk...

My step aunt and uncle are hosting a guy from South Africa in their home right now. Before he started college he wanted to travel to the United States and other places where he's never been while he has the time and listening to the different places he's been and where he's planning to go made me think about how much I love to travel but never get to/don't have the money/time to. But now that I'm about to graduate I'll have some time but with the economy gone to hell I won't have the money. I've never even had the opportunity to go anywhere by plane. The farthest away I've ever traveled was a band trip to New York City/Philadelphia because we were marching in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. I absolutely loved it, though. And I want to go to tons of other places....so who's up for backpacking Europe? We start saving our money now, pool it together and go...Maybe after most other people graduate in the fall? Hmmmm.......

The Beginning of the End

Graduation is looming in the near future and is kinda terrifying. Cap and gown, invitations, etc. still need to be purchased and I has no monies. Awesome. I need to find someone that knows a guy about selling a kidney or something. I only need one, right?
